Amy Zalazar
AMGA SPI
- Certified AMGA SPI
- Wilderness First Responder
Amy was born and raised in Colorado and was introduced to mountaineering and climbing at an early age in her teens over 35 years ago. Her parents recognized her passion and helped her grow and to professionally expand her outdoor knowledge. Amy pursued becoming an AMGA guide because she finds much of her joy in sharing the wonders of the outdoors with others, and the smiles it brings to their faces. She believes people with all abilities should experience the wonders of getting outside. She has experience climbing with the blind community, children and adults of all ages.
When she is not in Colorado she is usually traveling internationally climbing or in her converted van “Ellie” traveling the country climbing the world's best climbing destinations. If you were to ask Amy where are some of her favorite outdoor travel expeditions have been she would start with Wadi Rum, Thailand, Yosemite, Colombia, Alaska, Pico de Orizaba, Israel, Indian Creek and she would have a hard time stopping there because everyplace is amazing in its own way. Amy also is a certified veterinary technician in Emergency and Critical Care as a relief technician that loves animals and she is certified in canine wilderness first aid. Amy’s hobbies outside of climbing are gardening, raising her chickens, hiking, mountaineering, camping, spending time with friends and her two dogs.
