The diverse terrain offers a range of routes, from crack climbing to face climbing, and the views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking. Intro to Outdoor Climbing Reviews:

“I chose to do the Intro to Outdoor Climbing class and absolutely loved it! Dan, my guide, was very informative and a great teacher. He helped me figure out what I was comfortable with, made me feel safe and secure and got me super stoked for more outdoor climbing in the future! I would highly recommend using DCC for anyone looking to go on a fun adventure.”

“One of the best guides that I have had in all areas of outdoor travel. He was confident, knowledgeable, patient, and had a good sense of humor for this New Jersey traveler.”

“We had such a great time climbing! My brother and boyfriend were terrified but our guide, Dan made us all feel safe! We were complete beginners and all of us were able to climb to the top of at least one of the climbs. Dan did a wonderful job accommodating all of our needs as he provided me with a more challenging climb after I completed the first one. It was so much fun and I would definitely do this again!”

Had a great time on Intro to Climbing with Dan and Brett. They showed us the ropes (pun intended) and gave great encouragement. Beautiful location and would definitely recommend the experience. We’re in our 50’s and had solid climbs but there were younger people there too … that kept up with us :-)”

Received the intro to climbing class as a Christmas gift!! This was one of the best gifts!! Adventure and gaining knowledge! I got lucky and was the only one in my class that day and had a great time climbing with Dan in Clear Creek Canyon!! I learned so much in that 3+ hours and feel more confident with outdoor climbing! I was excited to learn new skills especially lead belaying and feel like I got great insight from someone who has been climbing for years and the time to gain experience on the wall. Though I arrived with most of the necessary gear Dan came prepared with everything and more!! I highly recommend this class if you want to learn more about outdoor climbing and safety!

This completely exceeded my expectations. This is a legit rock climbing experience. You’re climbing the side of a cliff. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to hold my husband and did it easily. I didn’t know if I could make it to the top and I did it. Bring lots of water because the sun does beat down and the hike up is pretty steep. But your guide walks you through everything. Be prepared to have an amazing time.

My sons (13 and 8 years old) and I had the pleasure of doing the intro to outdoor rock climbing with Dan. There was one other couple with us that had more prior experience so Dan was able to set them up separately and my sons and I on another rope. At no time did I feel like he was not available or watching us. He was patient, helpful and encouraging. He was great with my kiddos too. The site we climbed was perfect, beautiful (right by a river), and challenging. Have already recommended this to other people. Would love to do a private climb next with them.

Denver Climbing Company led an amazing tour for our group! They were extremely accommodating and helpful before, during, and after our tour. When the weather turned on us, they immediately made different plans to keep us adventuring! I highly recommend this company for any climbing-related activities!

Great time with Dan and Denver Climbing Company. I did the intro to outdoor climbing and the spot was awesome, Dan was super nice and helpful, and the group was a good size (5 people with us). I would definitely book with Denver Climbing Company again.

This was our first time trying outdoor climbing (we have been top roping & lead climbing in gyms) and we learned a lot from Dan! Since we were already familiar with belaying and climbing, Dan made sure we knew the safety checks and proper techniques before letting us get started. He was very knowledgeable and picked out challenging routes and also found the time to take nice photos of us climbing!

The climb was in a great location and was about a ~2 mile flat and paved walk to Golden. We’ll definitely be back for more lessons next time we visit!

This was a highlight of our family trip to CO. We had a group of 11 (ages 17-60) and the instructors were excellent! They boosted our confidence and gently pushed us to new heights!

Anyone newer to rope climbing or has never been, this is the perfect class. Dan is a GREAT instructor. He teaches you in segments, retaining the information is easier. Sometimes when you’re not good at something you can tell whoever is teaching you gets irritated. You don’t get this with Dan at all. He’s very patient, building your confidence. I recommend this to anyone, it’s a great experience. Thanks again Dan!

I signed my husband up to climb outdoors for the first time and I am so happy we found Denver Climbing Company! From the start, Dan was fast to respond to any emails we sent with questions and was very informative about where and what to expect. My husband had nothing but great things to say about his experience and will most definitely be coming back! It was also nice getting to see pictures later the same night(: Thank you!!

Such a cool experience with Denver climbing company! Our tour guide, Joey C., was awesome. He was so patient and made our first climbing experience unforgettable! The best tour guide ever!!!

This was a great time for my daughters who are 8 and 9 years old. My youngest loves climbing and has been going to a climbing gym all summer and wanted to try it outside. The routes were very reasonable and Dan moved them a few times as they progressed.

Dan took time to explain things, work with everyone in the group to answer questions, and most importantly to ensure everyone’s safety. If you’re considering trying outdoor climbing I would highly encourage you to give Denver Climbing Company a call.

This is great for kids, it’s great for adults who want to try, it would be a great place to bring a date and then grab some lunch afterwards. All around just a great experience!

We had an awesome time! Guides we’re great. The 101 routes were very approachable and there was a strong emphasis on safe climbing practices.

This was my boyfriend and I’s first time ever rock climbing and we were a bit nervous yet excited to try it during our trip. Dan was punctual and extremely helpful throughout the entire course. He was patient and informative and made sure we really understood what we were doing before letting us try on our own! We were so satisfied with our class that we definitely want to try it again on. Thanks again Dan!!

  20. Harold (verified owner)

Dan was an awesome and patient instructor, incredibly helpful but also willing to let you go through your own beginner’s hurdles on your own. The equipment was all safe and secure, the walls he sets up for you to climb provide several levels of difficulty for all sorts of beginner skill levels. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes you can stretch in!

Had an amazing experience with Dan and Denver Climbing Co. on the Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing. He’s extremely knowledgable and did a great job of meeting everyone at their own comfort level and providing additional challenges to those who want it. Would recommend this class and company to anyone!

I had the best time with Dan as a guide in the intro to climbing class! He was super knowledgeable, fun, and encouraging. He got me very excited about being outdoors after only being a gym climber and I feel like my climbing really improved during the session! Definitely recommend.

Had an amazing time! Dan knows what he’s doing, is VERY safe and just great to hang out with! I look forward to working more on my climbing abilities and getting my daughter introduced to the basics by Dan soon.

We were visiting from Florida and had an amazing time. Our guides were so helpful and patient with us as first time climbers. All climbing gear needed was provided. Being from Florida and hiking up a mountain can be challenging. One guide waited with us for water and catching our breath breaks. During the rock climbing, our climbs showed us techniques for climbing up, coming down, and how to handle the ropes. Our oldest daughter (10) climbed all 3 courses and made it all the way to the top! Our guides took amazing photos and shared them. We had an awesome time and would definitely do this again!

High recommend Denver Climbing Co! My boyfriend and I are new to the area and took the Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing class. We were super satisfied and impressed with our experience. Our guides, Dan & Justin were welcoming and brought amazing energy making it feel like we were learning to climb with friends. They were knowledgeable about explaining how the equipment worked covering safety measures and techniques on climbing. I had previously only climbed indoors and they gave me tips on the differences in order to have a more successful day outdoors.

Equipment was clean and new and they were Covid safe (e.g. mask wearing if not maintaining distance, tons of hand sanitizer, etc). Very efficient process meant we could spend the majority of our time climbing. Answered all of our questions. We left feeling accomplished and excited to do it again. We are planning on going back to take a lead class.

Dan was an awesome instructor it was mine and my friends first time rock climbing, and he made sure we were totally confident in what we were doing. At times when we were stuck and not so confident he talked us out of our comfort zone and pushed us to accomplish what we came to do that day. (Make it to the top) . On top of being a great instructor we had to reschedule do to myself getting sick the day I originally scheduled and he worked out a way for us to go the following day. We originally signed up for the 4 hour rappelling lesson but we ended up doing the for hour intro to rock climbing and I must say it was the best part of my trip to Colorado! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an awesome adventure in Colorado! I hope to be back and do it again soon!

Honestly words can’t capture the day. It was my first time rock climbing and through Dan’s never ending patience, experience and encouragemnet was I able to over come the wall that towered over me. He was extremely observant and knew just what to say when I was stuck between a rock and a hard place before I could even turn my head to ask. After meeting him I was easily able to trust him when it came to leaning back to descend the wall, which by far is the most terrifying part of the whole experience. We even ran into a rattle snake while resting and Dan immediately jumped up and knew what to do to ward off the animal with neither us nor the snake being harmed. To surmise the event it was simply exhilarating to say the least ill be back!!!

I booked this for myself, my little brother, and a friend of mine through Marriott.com and it was a fantastic experience!! Dan was exceptional from start to finish. Before we went anywhere he made sure we all had the correct equipment and that everything fit right. He showed us how to put on and adjust everything too. The hike up wasn’t bad and he made stops in the shade so we could all rest and enjoy the day. Once we got to the cliff he set everything up and then showed how to set up as a belayer and then as a climber. The chalk helped out ssooooooooo much! Especially on a hot day like it was! The climbs were easy too, Dan set up 2 lanes and each lane had an easy path and a difficult path. We had enough time to do both paths for both lanes a few times each and it was an absolute blast! I’d definitely recommend this to others and I’d absolutely come back for another beginner course or even a more advanced course!

If you are at all apprehensive about doing this, then I 100% recommend it. My 10 year old son and I did intro to rock climbing, neither one of us had ever climbed anything but a bunk bed prior. I was worried my son would get scared and frustrated and try to give up, and he absolutely did. But Dan coaches you through everything and the second time up, my son made it to the top. Great experience.

This past Thursday (6-27-19) me and my sister went on a climbing trip with Dan from Denver Climbing Company. Originally I was nervous because we had never rock climbed before, so I didn’t know if we would be able to get the full experience from the trip. However, this was not the case. Dan gave us the complete experience of a two person climbing trip. He teaches you how to climb and belay for about 10 minutes and then for the last 3.5 hours it is you and your partner rotating climbing and belaying independently. Dan creates a personalized experience that will push you to your limits and takes an environment that may be, at first, uncomfortable to some, but after the first 45 minutes, you will, without a doubt, find joy and value in the experience. We were from out of town and that can be nerve racking from fear of judgement, but Dan puts himself in the shoes of his climbers and remembers his first time climbing and the fears and struggles he himself, currently an extremely talented climber, faced in the beginning. Another perk Dan offered that I believed pushed the Denver Climbing Company over the edge (no pun intended) was a complimentary ride service. Our group was small so he ordered us an Uber from Denver to his site, but he also provides a shuttle for larger groups. I would unequivocally recommend Dan as a first option for anyone looking to rock climb in the area and if we visit again we will definitely be using the Denver Climbing Company for another memorable experience!

Rock Climbing with the Denver climbing company was 10/10 experience for me. I recommend it to anyone and everyone who has a taste for outdoor adventure sports.

We were not sure of what to do on our last day in Denver, and luckily found out about the Denver climbing company through our Hotel. Me and my girlfriend signed up for the “Intro to Outdoor Rock climbing” class. At first I wasn’t sure what to expect, I hadn’t done rock climbing ever before, but this course was extremely well crafted, to make sure that a person with no background in rock climbing is able to do it easily.

Since, it was the Memorial Day weekend, only 4 people had signed up for that batch. Dan, the owner of the company was extremely energetic, professional, and cared about providing the best experience possible. We were provided a complimentary shuttle service to and from to the Rock climbing spot and our Hotel, which means we spent no time in worrying about arriving at the right hiking spot.

Dan, gave us a good overview of the course and “what to expect”, teaching us the basics of rock climbing, etiquettes, and safety tips before we got started. Every equipment, knot and technique was double-checked by him to ensure safety.

Once we started the ascend, it was very challenging yet the most electrifying thing that I had done in my past few years. Dan was very helpful and continuously pushed us all the way during the ascend. On top of this, the view of the the Denver Downtown and Golden city is just absolutely stunning.

Since, it was a small group of 4, we ascended the cliffs twice before headed back to the base of the Mountain. Worth every penny spent!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a fun outdoor activity while he was visiting. I came across the highly recommended company, and could not be more pleased! We are both active people who wanted to learn the basics, but still be challenged. This activity exceeded our expectations. The best word we could describe it as– exhilarating! Dan, the instructor, clearly described all the basics to rock climbing quickly and effectively. He still kept the learning part fun! We had about 2 hours of climbing time and we each completed 3-5 total climbs. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to try something new! We are ready to go back for the next course.

My husband and I booked an excursion with day less than two days before the big day, but Dan answered all of our questions and was happy to have us be part of a small group of six for the Introduction to Rock Climbing course. After a brief equipment fitting, we hiked up to the rocks that we’d be climbing. It was a short but steep and tough hike for these sea-level dwellers, but we really enjoyed the view from the top. Dan stopped for a couple of breaks on the way up, each perfectly timed.

He began with a very thorough and easy to understand explanation of the rigging, knots, ropes, etc. Safety was paramount. My husband and I took turns belaying for one another among three different routes. This isn’t a course that is watered down for tourists, which is awesome! It is true rock climbing with real equipment on a real rock face. What’s more Colorado than that?!

Dan was friendly, knowledgeable, made things so comfortable, and was just all around a fantastic guide. We look forward to climbing with Dan next time we are in CO! We would absolutely recommend this outing for anyone who loves adventure. Amazing!

Wonderful trip with my family and Dan, our climbing guide, with the Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing Course. My brother, sister in law, and myself along with our children (6, 7, 9, and 10) went rock climbing on the morning of July 27.

We met Dan at the parking lot and got fitted for our gear-helmets, shoes, and harnesses. Word of advice: bring a backpack so you can carry your gear if you don’t want to wear it up the trail. Once we all had our gear, we took off up the trail to the base of the rocks. According to my brother’s fit bit, we climbing 49 flights of stairs. Dan was great about giving us breaks as needed on the way up. Another tip: bring at least two bottles of water per person. We all had one bottle of water and ran out before we were finished (it was a particularly hot day in Golden though, but still, a good idea!)

When we arrived at the base, Dan did a great job of teaching us how to tie our knots and belay. He had my 10 year old tying her own knot. He made sure we were always safe and gave the right amount of instruction. The kids went up first and Dan was so encouraging as he helped and challenged the kids to reach the top! Then the adults got to try their hand on climbing and he was also extremely helpful in coaching us to the top.

This was the best adventure we did in Colorado this week. Highly recommend!!!
